put a new fuel pump on my 300tdi timed up got running but will not rev up I'm lost does anyone know where I'm going wrong ???

have you got pipes to the lift pump wrong way round

Didn't take the lift pump off mate got it running just won't rev

injection pump you mean then, there are two banjo bolts are they the correct way round

Did you see/hear it running before you bought it? There are sliding parts inside the pump itself which if seized can cause similar issues (if it has been left standing a long while or has been run on veg oil or has had water in it). If it is, it may free up after a little while, what was wrong with the original?

yes the rear one is restricted and so its hole is a lot smaller than the front

Yes, I did that many years ago on a 200. Exact same symptoms as the OP.
Banjo bolts are (at a glance) identical but as James says, the return has a smaller hole.
