Hi,
I think its a fuel problem, as i go up the box it seems to hold back ,as if fuel starving , but it seems to get better the further i go , i have been using oil but not used oil new from makro at about 30%, could it be too cold for oil ?, and seem to be able to smell a fuely smell, Went for a run monday and the first 12 miles couldnt get past forty, eventually got on the a long straight and mange to give it a blast and ran fine for 80+ mile , i have also just treat it with redex , could it be this dislodging
crud and clogging jets ? or a plug not working ? all this ontop of the heater matrix pipes still shorted out in the engine cos i couldnt stop the leak.
thanks
ETR

If you're using veg oil, new or old, it will clean the whole diesel system quite well on it's own .. it doesn't need extra Redex .. ;)

I'd try a new fuel filter, mine got clogged up quickly when I first started using veg oil, then I had to change it again about 2000 miles later, now it's fine and clean .. :)

Might also be worth checking the air pipes, air filter, turbo/intercooler pipes for splits, de-lamination on the inside.

As well as fuel filter, have you cleaned out the fuel sedimentor recently / ever.
Using vegetable oil even in a 30% mix strips all the crud out of the tank and fuel lines, does a really good job but initially it all collects in the filters.
Not too cold for 30% mix, I'm using 50% at the moment , no problems.

Im running 60% mix at the moment with no problems, just invested in some motorbike handle bar heaters to wrap around the fuel filter.
I would definately recommend cleaning out the sedimentor, you will be surprised as to what is living in there.

On outside of offside chassis rail in wheel well just in front of rear axle .. and yes, it could easily be slowing the flow of diesel significanly. A jelly-like substance can develop in there, as well as the usual crap, blocking the fuel lines. M8 threaded bolt on top needs to be removed, and the sediment then drops down. When you've 'cracked' the bolt, bet a plastic bag or similar around the bowl to catch as much diesel as you can .. it gets everywhere .. ;)

Get new seals first from Paddocks/Beamends/a n other shop before you take it apart.

Should have mentioned this in my earlier post, sorry. ;)

M11 spanner for the bolt on top.

done the sedimentor , still the same , she dosent want to go over 2500 revs in 2nd/3rd it just stays at around 2500 and 20mph till i change up once in 4th it will work its way up to 40mph. Got a lift pump to fit now and change the fuel filter in the bulk head . not much gunge in the sedimentor not what i was lead to believe would come out , had back up with nets and dart guns at the ready ,couldnt even call it a jelly fish

try the filter before you get busy with the lift pump, Im running 50/50 on wvo at the mo, the car stood for 2 months after a smash with this mix - started 1st time; i love the 300tdi.

Might be worth lifting the boot carpets, opening the access hole (6 screws that will be rusted to feck) and seeing how the fuel delivery/return pipes are on the fuel sender unit - If they're cracked or excessively corroded they might be letting air into the system at source.
