Fuel gauge now oil light...

Hello,
I have a 1986 ex mod 110 defender....
First the fuel gauge started showing the wrong amount and now the oil light is flickering (when I come to a halt strangly). Is this an earth fault coming on ?

Does sound like it - check for a short to earth if thats ok get a new switch....

Check the earths and check if you have a sufficient amount of oil in the engine.

Sorry should have said about oil/fuel....filled her up yesterday with diesil and oil is in the normal position on the stick. Going earth hunting today, guessing I will find it all behind the dash ?
