Hi

Just wanted to ask if there are any common issues with the above - mine seems to be stuck! Wondering where to start looking for faults, sender or the gauge itself - any tips/tests I could run etc would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

Mick

The in tank sender simply alters the resistance of the earth feed to the gauge.
Ground the wire at the sender and gauge should read full. Disconnect the wire at the sender and don't let it touch metal and gauge should read empty. The sender inside the tank just varies those two scenarios.
Is the gauge stuck on full or empty?.

Thanks Flossie

The gauge is showing about 1/4 full regardless of tank contents, which from what I have read here and elsewhere makes me think it's looking like an earthing issue at the tank end...

Will do some digging and report back :)

Do the checks I said (ign on) and if the gauge reads full/empty as applicable then the sender needs looking at assuming the earth/sender electrical connections are good.
The sender may be stuck of course as indeed the gauge might be.
