Fuel Economy

Just for interest I recently tried to see what differnce driving would have on my 110 TD (the old one)


driving for a full tank worth of fuel really smoothly eg:

Never more than half accelerator
Keeping top speed below 65

Fuel economy 23mpg

Then tried with a full tank

Foot flat to the floor on acceleration
Cruising between 75-80

Guess what???? - 23mpg

So its back to driving as usual!

What engine?

It is the 2.5TD from 1988 (the one before the 200tdi)

this the engine your going to swap with a V8? what u doing with the engine?

Will be selling engine once the swap is done. But not planning the swap till April. Have to travel to Bulgaria in March which is 5000 mile round trip so fancy the extra economy for that
