I have taken the front regulator and motor out. I have a new regulator, but now the motor doesn't work. If I conect it up on a bench to a 12v supply it works. When pressing the window switch there is a slight voltage of just 0.15v. I connected up the lynx interface and it recognises that the switches are pressed. When I try to force the actuator with the Lynx nothing happens wth the motor.

All the other windows work OK.

Is there a relay somewhere that might be the trouble?

Disconnected the battery for about twenty minutes and then reconnected it. It is now powering the motor. Should I cancel my order for a new motor or play safe and fit one while everything is apart. I can't actually see what the problem is with the old regulator but seeing as I have a new one, i might as well use it.

The joys of the D2
Normally the problem with the regulator is the 2 plastic wheels that run along the bottom track, one or both eventually become brittle and break and the window then doesn't run up and down properly.

I have used the jump-starter to provide 12v power to raise the window. At least mechanically it is working fine and the motor seems to run alright with direct power. When I press the window switch the BCU clicks so perhaos the problem is there or in the wiring.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Possibly a broken wire where the loom goes into the door, although why it would work for a bit as mentioned in post No. 4 is a bit odd - fluke?

It is hard to inspect directly as there is a rubber cover and then I think the wires are grouped in a sheath within that. I might try and check the connection between the motor feed at the door and the pin of the BCU plug - if I can work out which pin.

This any help?

On the circuit diagram ( LHD ) the cable reaches a connector and the colours are reversed. I am not sure if RHD is the same.

If the connector shown is the one on the door then mine is different i that the colours don't reverse, not that it makes any difference.

If there was another connector near the BCU then it might be simpler to test but I will look into that tomorrow if the weather is a bit better.
