I have just started having problems locking and unlocking my RR, The rear doors lock/unlock ok but the front passenger door and drivers door do not, and can only be opened by use of the key.

It would seem to me that 2 door mechanisms are unlikely to fail at the same time, can this be an electrical issue ?? Have checked all the fuses and all seems to be in order! Moving either front door switch will still lock/unlock the rear doors....any ideas??

Thanks in advance

:p

dont be surprised by anything a land rover throws at you, its not uncommon for both front door latches to fail, the wiring will need to be checked out to confirm this, but more than likely will be a latch fault

Hi Lanny
Mine done exactly the same within a month of buying it..Ran it down to a local Range Rover guy who plugged it into his comp...They can fire all the locks independantly and fault find (cost £55 quid though).
Sure as,Both front door locks had gone faulty at the same time.I brought a new passenger one as this was Superlocked.(£105)Easy job to change.
The drivers one was the same as yours. The remote would lock and unlock all the doors except the front drivers.Had to use the key everytime..As money was tight i ended up buying a 2nd hand one(£30) Ebay.Although the wiring was all different,it was an easy job to strip both locks and change the large motor across...This fixed it 100%..
Hope this helps? Good luck and drop me a message if you need talking through the job...Cheers Tel
