Hello all, I have had to cut out the front footwell carpet and underneath rubber mat thing due to soaking footwells. If I ever solve the leak, is there any thing like an after market mat I can put down that will look half decent?

Ps This is a strange leak- i've narrowed it down to not being the air con or sunroof or door seals. it seems to be coming in from the join just to the left of the accelerator pedal on the wing wall... investigations continue, although I think its running down from the bulkhead some way!:confused:

sounds like the pipes to the heater matrix, did you pressure test the coolant? that should show a leak and make it leak from the above place, just to confirm it for ya! you'll prolly need a new matrix which means dash out so replace with a new carpet. dunno if you can buy something by the metre and use old one as a template.

take out the seats, door frame trim, centre console and dash and it should be easy to get the carpet out in one section!

spend a day or two on it and replace the whole carpets and it will look like new! but i wouldnt do anything till you know the leak is fixed!

thanks guys, slight mistake in my first post, the leak is comimg from to the right of the accy pedal on the o/s wall, not next to the tranny tunnel. I think its coming from under the windscreen. I was thinking there might be some kind of moulded rubber mat thing I could bung down.

Thing is, I cant decide whether this RR is a keeper or not, its only got 93K on the clock and no other problems other than the leak. If I cant find it soon I might get shot of it, as the leak is totally head doing especially here on the West Coast of Scotland where it sometimes rains.....
