Front axle removal and swap

Here's how ah did it;):D

First ah loosened the wheels..

then jacked the bus up using two jacks and supportin' the front with some blocks and a piece of wood to rest the front of the chassis on and used axle stands to support the axle...

removed the wheels...

next ah undid the two bolts on the top swivel pin to remove the bracket for the brake pipe, undid the calliper and tied it up out of the way...

Last thing to undo was the shocker bottom nut...

Once that is off, it a case of having another person to help steady the axle and work the other jack for lowering it onto a trolley (or cut down shoppin' trolley - slobs idea;) )

Once onto the trolley, just pull it out..

As this one was going back into me other bus, we (me neighbour and I) decided to have a trial run of fittin' it just incase there was any problems. turns out it wasn't that bad to do....

Before ye go to fit the axle, it might be a good idea to put the springs on before ye jack it back up....

After that, it's pretty much a reversal of takin' it off. ye may want to check yer manual(s) for torque settings though just to make sure everything is dun up nice and tight.

Job dun..
