Hi all,

We have a petit maison in Rochechouart and on our next run down if anyone is feeling sociable and not *too* far off the peage myself & SWMBO are happy to share a cuppa :D
Calais - A16, A28, A10, Rouens, Tours, Le Mans & Poitiers.

Sunray also says even if anyone is not feeling sociable it's nice to know there might be help out there as well if we need it:cool:

If anyone needs anything fetching to / from UK (RR parts etc) the offer is there as long as it's not too big! I can't carry a ride on mower :p

PM

I'm about 25km off the A10 west of Poitiers, if you want to call by for a cuppa PM me.

Thanks Datatek I will. Plannning from 20th October onwards depending on Sunray's work and if I get another contract this side of Christmas. Defintely going just not firm dates.
All tbc right now
I can also do recovery & storage should the need arise, although as a poor pensioner I would have to ask for the cost of trailer hire & fuel. I'm away for a few days off up the A10 to Paris so may not be able to reply.

Don't have a P38 but happy to get a brew on and chew the cud about landies in general.
We are 1/2 hour to the west of the A10 at Chatellerault.

Your a hero data!

We are 40mins below Angoulême if you get down that far?;)

Hahahaha I've done that trip twice in Rommel previously - faultlessly. This time with fresh suspenders, repaired and fully functional EAS, new tyres, fluids, SVO fuel mix, working HEVAC, new water pump, new belts, new spill off pipes, new oil, fuel, air and pollen filters, nightbreaker bulbs, no SRS warning lamps

What could go wrong? :D:D

Not a hero, just dealing with what life throws at me.
We go to Angouleme for the Race des Remparts, this year was probably the last time as the seem to have messed up the parade which was downright dangerous this year with idiots showing off up the pedestrian precinct.
We go down to Pujols & Monpazier from time to time where we have friends:D

Yes indeed a real star. My nephew is 10 and also handicapped and we know the dedication involved.
It's not that bad, he's in his 30's and lives independently. However he cannot cope with things that go wrong like the plumbing, so while I am still able, it falls to me to do the repairs, no way we can afford to pay Paris prices, the last time we used a plumber it cost a fortune and I still had to go and fix it after 3 visits from the plumber.

Yes, French "artisan" prices.... I was quoted E6000 to clear 1 acre of brambles. I laughed at him. I did it by hand, it took me a week with a roller followed by a ride on mower. Total cost about E100 - new fan belt on the mower, fuel, blade sharpening and cidre.
I don't mind doing all the work handraulically it's a nice change to see land transforming before your eyes!

Right guys - I finally made it, I got a contract offered Friday night and that put a spanner in my wheel. Then I had a major drama just as I was about to board the train - the gear box cooler pipe came undone and spilled ATF all over the floor. Anyway I got the recovery man to buy me 11 litres of ATF (I had no idea how much had lost so had to cover my bases, the one litre was for the squeezy nozzle so I could fill it up in the car park) and bring it to Folkestone but then the bloody F11 NEUTRAL wouldn't leave the dash. Nothing would clear it, I must have tried it 10 times.

I was 30 mins from getting towed away and fired up the car - still stuck in neutral - plugged in my kettle and waited for it to boil. I heard a clunk about 15 minutes later and noticed the SELECT NEUTRAL had gone! Cancel the recovery, run to customer services and re-re-book my ticket then board the next train. But due to me getting another contract and my wife's job it is a flying visit. I can visit one or 2 this time but I will be back in December so won't be in a rush then and can even bring my own tea bags :D
