Hi everyone.New to this site so bear with me !!!
I have a S reg freelander which has 255/55/17 wheels / tyres fitted. Can I fit 16" wheels to this as the tyres seem a lot less to buy !I am looking to put some off road tyres on it. Also what size ? as I am told that different tyre / wheels will alter the speed.Sorryif this sounds stupid but can any one help please.
Thanks

You can only get off road tyres of the correct size for the 15". Yes you can fit 16" wheels but make sure they are the right year, post 2000 (I think) are different - you can tell them apart by looking inbetween the bolt holes on the newer type there are holes/dimples and the old ones are solid. And yes they will affect the calibration of your speedo but not be a massive amount - just use your satnav to find out how far out it is.

If you go for 15" steels you will need the wheelnuts for the steel wheels also. - Off road type tyres options for the 15" 4x4 Tyres :: The Ultimate 4x4 Tyre Website ::.
