Hi, can anyone offer advice or recommendations on where to go, and how much i should expect to pay for supply and fitting of a towbar and twin electrics? I'm in Rutland.

phone around local garages, the ones who come to your house are usually pretty decent. I would say £200-£250 fitted. mum just had one fitted to bmw 1 series at home for £225 with twin elecs.

A big thank you to those who advised me to fit my own towbar. Done.
Socket wired up and cable threaded through to area behind rear o/side panel. However, I'm bu****ed if I can find the connection that it should attach to...any clues, anyone?
Then, do I require the optional fog cut-off, or not? It would help if I knew what it is!
Also, do I require the optional PDC cut-off, or not? PDC is what?

HELP PLEASE.

My wife's small hands have now located and retrieved the hidden connector, hurrah for her. But I do still need advice on the Fog and PDC issues, please.

Fog cut off will turn you car's fog lamp off when a trailer's fog lamp is activated.

PDC? I guess that is parking distance control which will stop your car thinking you are about to reverse into your trailer.

Cheers

Thanks very much Blippie.
I haven't got PDC so i guess i can ignore that section of the wiring instructions.
I guess i do want fog cut off though so that my caravan displays fog lights when in use?

Regards,

Peter

The fog cut off is more to disable the foglights on the car when towing, just leaving the caravan fogs on. If you don't all you get is a brilliant red glow of the reflection from the caravan in your rear view mirror. Therefore all it does is break the feed to the fog lights when the trailer is plugged in.
