I have a 2006 Freelander with 62k on the clock.
The steering went “floppy” last week and my local Landrover specialist has identified that the bolts securing the offside of the rack have sheared and this is in a cavity panel in the chassis. They don’t know whether they can fix it and have quoted a guess at £1,000 but it could be double that. It’s only worth c£2k.
Do I just accept it can be fixed economically and scrap it for parts?
