Good Day - I am the proud owner of a 2005 TD4 Freelander with a BMW engine. My problem is that when I start the land rover for the first time it is leaking diesel at rh front of the engine. A Few time in die garage without any results because when the engine is hot, no leaks,

Please any advise.

Pic of the engine could help?

General rule is to clean it down so you can trace the leak easier. Diesel may be evaporating when warm if leaking onto engine. There’s normally fuel lines that go to/from the filter to a fuel rail and then a return guess garage have checked these?

other fluids can also leak, run down a dirty engine picking up diesel or oil making them seem like those types of leak.

Best help you will get is here -

Good luck and welcome to the forum :)

Yer garage is rubbish. If it only leaks when cold they should wait for it to go cold before starting and watching where it leaks from. Tis common sense.

Had same problem some 5 years ago on my Freelander 2005 TD4 2,0L bmw engine. Also leaked diesel - coud'nt find on first look, from where that is coming.
They repaired commonrail fuel injector. Then tested.Paid couple of hundreds € ,from what I remember.Works great since then, no leak.
Repaired also fuel injection noozles, 500€.Also tested after job were done. They have such ability there. Some small problems, such like turbine pipe and glow plugs.
What I do not like in it, is - changed cluthc complete once. After couple years again - clutch release bearing - there were coming bad sound from it.So decided to change it - and were worth to do so.
Just a question - is that normal, that clutch pedal start release on very beginning/very low position ( could say - some 5-7cm )?Asked others - report very same.
Clutch sounds like usual ''illness'' on it.
