Freelander Rear Heated Screen

Hi Guys & Girls

Sorry to mither you, but i am having problems with my rear heated screen in my freelander, it doesn't work at all, i have checked the fuse box, and the fuse is fine, but one thing that i will say is that when i have the radio on and i turn on the rear heated screen, the radio goes a lieel fuzzy, i just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this problem, or if anyone had any ideas on how to go about fixing this?

have you checked the relay,

locate the relay and check that its securely pluged in ,

take off the rear door panel, and check the connections to the window element, these can corrode, while your there check the voltage if you have meter

the relay will still click on activation but the contacts inside maybe, worn.

i have the same problem at the minute and it looks like my window element has gone, scrounging for new windscreen online, but bloody busy at work the mo, so its taken a back seat.


just and edit to the post. the buzzing will probably be caused by a bad electrical contact somewhere with respect to that heating circuit, so check the relay as it could be arcing internal.
