Freelander 1 Freelander mods

Ok so I'm not the biggest fan of having plain/standard motors, I have a freelander 1 I have the official land rover body kit attached as well as upgrading the air inlet pipes to blue but other than these I can't really find any mods on the market (other than light protectors)

Can anybody make any recommendations? (Ideally with photos)

lift kit, wheel spacers, ecu remapped, performance box, poly-bushes...

The worst mod is the official bizarre Freelander body kit. What is that all about?
I have got a nudge bar, light guards front and back; Landrover Freelander spotlight kit (looks like
Hurricane machine guns ha don’t care) Muddy Mods nice and small silencer; rock sliders; towbar and steps mounted on towbar because I wanted the rear protected and couldn’t find anything better, (would have mounted a rear M2 if I could), rear Freelander window dog grill, stupid hard plastic rear luggage space/compartment cover which people want stupid money for; I made a metal sump guard using an old sump guard and check plate (all instructions are on here somewhere); lost the egr; changed the crankcase filter to BMW upgrade that has no filter to change; bought a soft top for the summer (mine is 3 door); it had roof bars already and last but not least the little plastic wind deflectors that go on the doors which I thought would be crap but are actually really good at deflecting the wind and also stopping water from puddles etc., coming straight in over you if you hit water with the window down. I am actually amazed at how the car seemed to direct water in the window so well. Now
I am bored but luckily being a Hippo there is always something to do haha. It’s never over with a Landrover. But I love mine.
Sometimes my wife lets me drive it.

My car has the official dealer-fit body kit. The original owner had it fitted for a cost of in excess of £1500 in 2001.

There’s no way I’d have spent that. But the look is growing on me, and with the wheel arch extensions, it would look cool with a body lift and Modulars with chunky tyres (you know I want to! Lol)

I tried to upload a picture but the forum's not been very cooperative: digital flu perhaps?

I'll see whether I can upload a picture of my Hippo on Salisbury Plain - but I've not yet done the lift and modular wheel mod yet

the 3 door body kit looks good on it, you should consider painting the bumpers

I really like the wider arches and fixing holes on the official kit, but I'm not so taken by the horizontal bars.

@baptista is right though. Get the bumpers matching the arch colour and it'll look really good

I personally wouldn’t have gone for this kit and have serious thought to removing it, but it is part of the car and its history and even the horizontal strokes have grown on me! Lol

It needs some “butching up” and the original nudge bar might be a nice addition - but can’t decide if it would look good from all angles?

I’ve seen pictures of where folks have painted bumpers and I agree, it can look good. But I like taking “lil’ donkey” off road, so the grey plastic is the most practical option

Raptor paint is very durable.

I've painted mine over 3 years ago and they still look "black"
just got the bumpers off, gave them a good scrub, plastic primer and 3 coats of Matt Black from the spray can

Depends how far you want to go, mine has a 200bhp turbo petrol lump from the MG ZT
