Howzit from sunny South Africa. I recently came home from a 5 year stint in the the UK and, perhaps somewhat hastily, had acquired a Freelander within 4 hours of landing in Cape Town...don't I feel like a plonker now! Lets cut to the chase: I'm getting huge clouds of grey smoke on pullaway mostly...it tends to clear up once I get moving...but sometimes hangs around a bit.The red engine light also comes on at steady revs over 2000ish,but goes away if I just relax my acceleration slightly.Power is pretty bad toh,and here's the thing...the smoke problem is intermittent. It comes and goes as it pleases. I'm thinking faulty turbo (a R12000 job over here...thats about 1000 quid) or maybe just some hoses?Any help would be most appreciated.I might even persuade the boys to let y'all win the rugby world cup next time.hehehe, couldn't resist.Anyway,it's a 1999 2.0 TD, with the L-series engine.PLEASE HELP:tea:
