Freelander II - Rear passenger window trim

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

The plastic n-shaped trim that clips around the inside of the rear passenger window wont go back on. No amount of prodding will make it slide over and into the rubber seal gap, as per the right side, is there something I'm missing? Nothing behind the trim broken, but the left side looks warped (or maybe thats normal when not under load), or have I missed something?

Also, is there a searchable online parts catalogue, as you get with other marques?

Apologies for that I just presumed it was a FL1 :rolleyes:, in that case I'm not sure where to find a parts list for the FL2. I know @Nodge68 posted a link to the w/s manual so he probably knows where there's a p/list as well:) I'm sure he or someone else will will be along soon. Hope this helps.
 
That site suggests its p/n LR039867 RH door window moulding, in the absence of any other diagnosis, the assumption must be the moulding has somehow warped out of shape and a new one will make new again, just cant figure out how it happened.
 
I really don't know the FL so having a stab in the dark;).

Is there some sort of "barb" to hold the rubber and plastic together?

Maybe take the rubber to the plastic then clamp it back in the correct place and apply your hairdryer to heat the plastic and see if it goes back to correct shape/position.

Snap. I know even less.

Studying the nearside, looks like they simply snap into place, so heating might work and holding it in situ whilst it cools down, my main concern is heating may inadvertently impact something else. Removing the rubber door seal is possible, but its a very tight fit (for obvious reasons), refitting it with the moulding in situ......not sure this is within my capability without doing further damage.
