Freelander back window

The back window on my 98 Freelander wont open,even when you try the handle on the back door,and when you try the button in the cab,a buzzer sounds. I've checked the fuse,which is fine.Can any one PLEASE give me some words of wisdom?

Depends whether you only want to be able to open the door. If so, throw a spanner through the window.
