Freelander and p38

Hi guys, I'm new to this so please bare with me!!! I've got a 2004 1.8 freelander 1. I've heard all the hg horror stories but I'm at a loss. The car looses a full tank of coolant in about 15 mins but there is no oil/water mix anywhere and no white smoke when driving. No obvious leaks anywhere either. There is air getting into the system as when the cap is taken off to refill a gasp of air comes out. Is this still possibility hgf or could it be something else? Someone did say IMG???

Same as a Freelander but slightly bigger and breaks down more often.
