Hello,

I have a freelander 1.8, 2004 model which has just developed a clonking noise when turning hard right. Nothing when turning left or just driving and no leaks or whineing - can anybody help please in telling me what this could be?

I have read the other threads and believe it could be one of the diff mounts?

Thanks

There you go, answer in red, you might be as well starting there ;);););)

Rhythmic clonking on hard lock on most vehicles is usually CV joint. I presume a Freelander would be the same.

is the noise coming from front of vehicle or rear, front is driveshaft or wheel bearing, rear could be cracked subframe mount, we need more info.
