Freelander 2 start/stop

Have a 2012 Freelander 2 since 2013.
For the past year or so although the start/stop light is on, the engine doesnt cut out at all when the car comes to a stop.

Any way to remedy this?

It's the battery, mine did the same. The ECU measures the amount of charge and if below a set level it won't initiate the Stop/Start.

It will be the battery. However it not shutting the engine down continually will be saving the starter motor instead. I'd rather use a bit extra fuel, than replace the starter every 5 years.

Yes, I'd agree...a ****e system and personally I'd rather waste a small amount of fuel rather than half the life of the starter motor and gears.
