Hi everyone.

Driving home this evening, noticed the car what I can only describe as hiccuping on the motorway, not really losing power, but enough of a small jolt to be noticed.

Carried on, and occasionally this would have the orange triangle with a circular arrow icon accompany it, but for no more than a few seconds, and only about three times.

Car seemed to pull okay and was only on very light acceleration when these hiccups would happen.

Didn't appear to happen when off the motorway at slower speeds.

Any ideas!?

Cheers. Marc.

Was the suggestion on your previous thread of any help? You didn't reply.

You might get some suggestions on this thread as well if you say what engine your car has and what year it is.

I didn't notice any replies from a previous thread. Sorry.

It's a 07; xs td4. 2.2L turbo diesel.

Thanks.

The warning light you described sounds like the DSC light and flashes when the system is active.

Have you had new tyres or any suspension work done (tracking etc) done recently?

I haven't no. Not since last MOT.

Funnily enough, mid panic my partner said it might be one of the terrain settings doing it, so the DSC button was one I pressed. That seemed to have potentially stopped it, but was coming to the end of the motorway part of the journey (just seen your in Gloucestershire, was junction 11 of the M5, funnily enough) so haven't tested since.

The car did this hiccup sometimes with the light on, sometimes off, but more often with no light on the dash.
