Hi, i have a freelander 1:)

Im looking to fit a caravan charging harness (grey socket).
.
I know that there is a dedicated wiring plug hidden away behind the rear lights for fitting the normal towbar electrics (black socket), but does anyone know if landrover had the foresight to also run dedicated wiring for a caravan charging harness.:(

Any help would be apreciated..Regards Neil

Looks like more expense.. this caravaning lark is starting to cost a fortune..

Dont suppose anyone knows of any DIY kits out there..

I think its time to trawl youtube someone has bound to have done it before..

Thanks ...Neil

Yeah, go to halfords and buy the smart relay wiring kit, or buy a conventional 30amp single input single output relay, and make your own smart relay. It's easy enough to do. I'm wiring in the battery charging and fridge over the next 2weeks so I will try and get some photos and a description for you. If you have some understanding of electrics, you will be fine.

For smart relay it's only one wire anyway. Depending on the age of your 'van you don't need both the fridge and battery charge wiring up anyway as a relay in the 'van takes care of the changeover. You will get wiring diagram with a smart relay kit.
