Freelander 1 sunroof rust - name of part

Hi,
Problem with rust on the sunroof of my 5 door.

I want to make sure of the name of the part involved.

Is the bit the glass sits in called the tray?

If so, dealer price for new is about £500

All four corners of this section rusty and now starting to leak.

Is there any possibilty this can be treated and filled to try and get more life or must be replaced?

How long a job is it for a garage to do if replace?

No always best to replace & the cost if I remember when I did mine was about £150 -£170 cant recall 100% will try and find the part number later and post it up, it will be the glass and it's frame around it that corrodes as you can see from photo's below

Yes that is the part.
Where did you get the part from?
Did you just get the metal frame?

Had the headlining down - the drain tube has come away - the part this connects to has rusted away.
Been told it needs a whole new sunroof to be safe.
Can this be removed and an after market one which just tilts be put in?
Whole new unit from Land rover not available when checked last week.
Will any other Rover roofs fit to give more options with breakers?

This won't help you with the drain tube bit but might save you a few £s.

I replaced my sunroof with a second hand unit from a breakers for £3. I found the best one I could as they all seem to go the same way. A bit of sanding, some rust coat and paint and I've been very happy with the result. Mine was leaking like a basket but now it's dry. I expect the newer one to get worse obviously, but compared to spending £150+ for a new one I think I've done well and if it lasts three or four years I'll be very pleased.
