Freelander 1 - door unlocking problem

I have a 2003, 3 door, petrol, Freelander 1.
Yesterday, I found that the passenger door no longer unlocks with the remote (the button doesn't pop up). It does appear to lock OK with the remote. but can only be unlocked using the inside handle. The driver door and rear door still lock and unlock with the remote.
I haven't tried to remove the door panel yet, but am I right to assume that there is probably a fault with a solenoid/motor in the door?
If so, is this easy to get at and replace?

Hi, had exactly the same prob with mine (apart from it was drivers door). Yes, it will most likely be the solinoid, tried WD40ing it but no joy, i ended up getting one from scrap yard and fitting it myself. Not that easy, not to bad, more annoying and time consuming than anything. took me about 3 hours, works spot on now though. The solinoids on the 3 door and 5 door are the same by the way. good luck.

Pleased it's a three hour job (not)!!
Looking at the door, I assume it is hard to get at, opportunity for grazed knuckles etc.
Will now start a search for a replacement.
