Free lander 2 fuel pump

hi all
Could do with some help as my knowledge is limited right them last week my freelander cut out on motorway rac attended towed me home an gave me a report fault code p115a low fuel pressure suspected fuel Pump in tank so had car recovered to a garage witch is now telling me it can’t be done due to the pump has to be programmed in the ecu and only land rover can do this could some one help please thanks
