whilst doing a service, and getting my 300tdi ready for its Mot this Wednesday I thought i would finally try to get my front fog lamps working as they haven't worked since I bought it.
Well I eventually managed to remove the passenger lamp and opened it up to find a lot of roster parts all of the reflective material has corroded and I guess I found the problem, it took me another couple of hours to remove the drivers side as one of the bolts was just spinning and a screw had stripped its head. I haven't even opened this one as I could see the water inside so I know the problem is going to be the same.
My question is I've looked at replacing them with a new set but at £129 each I'm loathed to pay up and buy new to replace, so does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives? Or do you think it would be possible for me to refurb the current brackets and find a unit of similar size to original and mouth them in the same housing? Thanks Iain.
