Fl2 2.2 fuel pump location

My 08 freelander 2.2 broke down Thursday. Will start but as soon as I touch the throttle she cuts out & to restart I have to remove then replace key fob. RAC suggests its the pump. For the past 6mth or so the fuel gauge was zeroing to empty if I went below half a tank & sometimes this would put her into limp mode. I got myself a cheap diagnostic reader & was always able to sort it but not this time. Could it be fuel pump & where is it located? Any help is appreciated, Rob

Is it in the tank?

Just remembered that that my mate drained the fuel from his written off car & gave it to me to put it in my tank, but it looked clean as I checked b4 using it. The fuel was about 4/5 wks old. This was my 1st concern when I broke down. Thanks for your advice, Rob
