Hi all
Ive had a quick seach but cant seem to find anything relating to my exact problem, ive just bought an old '02 Freelander 1 Td4

On acceleration its seems to pull fine but specially in 1st and 2nd it gets to 3000rpm and almost instantly looses boost, im not sure if this is normal or not as ive not driven a td4 before this one, ive checked the obvious, vac lines, boost pipes ect, obd scan reveals no codes

Baisically just want to double check if this is just how they are or of there is actually a problem somewhere

Tia

Mine did exactly that. It was crank sensor. Check it hasn't come loose in the hole before replacing. My thread is on here somewhere. Got fault code for loss of boost but wasn't the MAP was the crank sensor.

Funnily enough i did read your post, only thing is mine dosent actually cut out it carrries on accelerating but you can hear and feel the turbo die off, i will double check the crank sensor though :)

In that case check all vacuum pipes from the reservoir to the servo actuator and maybe clean the map sensor in the inlet manifold.
