Hi,
I have a 2006 Disco 3 base model and am thinking of fitting reversing sensors. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is fitted inside the bumper or would it be a case of wiring them in?

Thanks

Hi Gary,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately my model doesn't have that button. The only indication that I have selected reverse is that the gear selector indicator shows "r"

that’s bizarre , urs isn’t the 5 x seat one is it

mines a base model and came as standard

No it's a 7 seater, it's such a base model I think they had to pay extra to have wheels fitted lol.

lol, same as mine , unless as u say they specified it

don’t know how hard it would be to add it , would assume the same loom is there

have u tried removing the blank to see if the wiring connector is there

know mine didn’t come with cruise control or electric seats , i just added them and then used my iid to activate it

did u get all ur belts and oil pump cover checked

I've not taken the blank off yet. I had my cam belts changed by a dealer after I'd had the car a year or so. Never had the oil pump cover checked, don't even know where it is. Is it a common problem?

great u got the belts done, assume they also done the back belt , that one just controls ur fuel injection pump

there are indeed many reports ref the oil pump, seen issues mainly from 2007, however some saying they even can fail from 2005

they have a reinforced corner and best to get ur garage to at least check if it’s ok

is just a heads up , enclosed some pics and u can see top right hand corner of the extra casting

they are fitted around the crankshaft at the front but have to take quite a bit off to check, think some garages use a borascope

Yes I did have the rear belt done at the same time as the main one. Must admit never heard of this before but just looked it up on the Internet. Thanks for the heads up. I saw a quote somewhere that said "Land Rover, 60 years of turning drivers into mechanics". They weren't kidding.

Lol, just been checking borascopes out on ebay. You can get them really cheap for a smartphone. Might have to invest in a new toy. Don't tell the wife though.
