Starting a new Thread on this , thInk its gonna take me a long time to solve this one.
Started to fit the rears tonight, what a nightmare it is on your own.
Dont know what Ive done wrong but the back ones that go to shackle pins wont budge, thought all I had to do was lift rear of chassis but everything just moves together.
All I can think of is maybe I should have put the front bit in the top hole then that might lower the rear bit, or am I wrong.
Please help doing my head in AGAIN

When I did mine I found this guide useful ( tho it may be different when not replacing with weight on the chassis- certainly to set the springs at the end of it I needed to load everything I owned in the back of the truck to get the height right before tightening the shackle bolts)
But take a look and see if it helps…https://teflonmike.craywiki.co.uk/0_Lo_073_Workshop_C_007_LeafSwap.htm
Fofgot to say Its a bare chassis and springs are fited to axle. Will have a read and see if I can get any tips,
Must have done something wrong as the Dam things wont budge.

You got shocks fitted?
Bottle jack on top of spring to underside of chassis.

No Mate no shocks yet, , thanks will give that a go, still not sure about the 2 holes in the front bit though, put springs in the bottom one coz it was easier, dont know why there is 2 holes there.

Take the axle off the springs and support on stands fit the springs and refit axle...start by fitting springs to chassis bushes in middle of chassis then fit to outer bushes then drop axle down of stands onto springs...didnt realise when you were posting about u bolt length you haddent fitted springs to chassis..hope this helps as it takes a lot of weight off...when you remove them yes you take the lot off as one but re-fitting is not the same...

Thanks Mate I will try the jack method first , if it doesnt work will do this, its really hard on your own need bloody 10 pairs of hands, glad Ive got the engine hoist though.
Spoiling my nice shiny paint job :D by moving the dam things all over the place, Need to touch up with again when Im done a

Your fighting the weight of the axle and diff jack the axle up remove from springs and sit on axle stands fit springs and drop axle back down...

63 Years , have you thought about galvanising

Not possible here in the Algarve...I'll post pics tomorrow of the chassis it's not mine I'm only doing the resto on it...my 101 has a galv chassis but was done in UK before I bought it...

Well got the rears done. what a faff on.
Stuck on the front now as not sure what goes where. Firstly the bolts wont go through the chassis bushes, they went through the same bushes on rear though, Secondly not sure which way shackles go top or bottom.
On Diagram I have Left 2 90577721s 2 90577723s 4 537742s and 537741s

The shackle with the tube goes on the inside lower of the chsssis where the spring fits so the top flat part of the shackles are either side of the chassis...

Yes think I know what you mean, dont know why the bolts wont slide through easily like they did on rear, there's very little in it but not sure weather to hammer them through or not,

Are they new bolts? It wouldn't be the first time that replacent bolts are out of spec.
Yes Mate they are new, finally got them through, didnt have a drill bit that size to run through so used a round file, took bloody ages but got it in the end.
Got a rolling chasis now.
