Has anyone fitted a pair of front foglights to their hippo, the ones that are recessed into the bumper.Ive seen a pair on ebay Im after, is it a DIY job, how long will it take me to do, or is it best to an electrician.

Thanks

The wiring is the easy part - just follow the instructions supplied with the kit. Its a case of plug and play and the only challenging bit is getting the wire from the bonnet through into the cabin. (there is a rubber grommit that you slice and push the wires through taped to strong wire from a wire coathanger).

What age is your feelander??

The ones with grey bumpers (ie pre 2003) have a template marked on the rear of the front bumper. Simply unbolt and remove the bumper and drill the outilne of the template. (you can cut with a hacksaw, but I simply keep drilling around the edge and clean up after)

I have a brand new complete kit for early models (ie pre 2003) going spare. PM me if you want further details.

Steve

Hi Steve
Mine is a 52 plate 1.8. Thanks for the offer but I bought a pair from ebay before easter. I pulled the blank fog light from the dash & it is already wired. Will these go back to the fuse box? Ive never done electrics before so I'll get an electrician. How long will it take?

Thanks

If the wiring is present, it will just be a case of fitting the switch near your rear fog lamp switch and fitting the fogs. Hopefully the wiring will be behind the bumper, so the only major work should be cutting the holes in the bumper.

You may have to fit a relay (yellow in colour). Have a look near the front of your battery and to the righ side of the radiator. Can you see any relay holders that look blank??

Electrics should take less than 10 minutes - its the removal of bumper that takes a little time. Try and source a mat or some old carpet to lay the bumper on once removed. Saves any scratches / damage occurring.

Steve
