Hi all,
Is it possible to fit a 24 spline detroit locking diff into an old range rover axle which orginally had 10 spline diff and shafts? I've been offered a 24 spline locking diff with matching 24 spline half shafts but am told that the 24 spline shafts will be too long for the axle tube. Apparently the width of land rover axle tubes which used the 24 spline shafts is longer than that of the older land /range rovers which used the 10 spline shafts and hence the 24 spline shafts will be too long?? Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone make shorter 24 spline half shafts which would solve it? Any other way to solve it other than buying a 24 spline range rover axle tube?
thanks!
