Hi guys - Has anyone seen this problem before? I fitted some front NAS side lights and flashers (will get round to doing the rears next weekend). The problem is the indicators now flash too fast on both sides. All bulbs seem fine. When I turn the hazard lights on they all flash at normal speed. My Land Rover is a 200tdi 90 so i also fitted the adapter plugs.

I'm guessing that you fitted LED nas lights rather than element bulb Nas lights (normal bulbs)? IF My assumption is correct you need to wire resistors in parralel between the wires to each light or fit a solid state relay. Your current relay thinks it has a bulb out due to the lack of current draw.

No they are just normal bulbs. They are the old ones from the light I just removed. Is there a way to fool my relay to slow it down?

Sorry read the post again. No heard of the solid state relay. Are they easy to find and fit? I'll have a search. Thanks

Are all the bulbs lighting up and at full brightness? Try getting someone to stick a foot on the brake while you also have the headlights and indicator going. I'm wondering if you have a bad earth. If you do have a bad earth you'll probably find your lights will start acting funny with all the above on.

Yeah they seem to be bright enough - Will take it out tonight and try all the lights on and brakes etc.
If all electrics seem fine i may just buy a relay to fix

3 Pin Bulb/LED Flasher Relay 30Watts Kit Car/Fast Flash on eBay (end time 17-Feb-11 07:52:51 GMT)

Would this one do the trick?

Thanks for the quick response Ratty :)

NO. If you are curretly using standard filament bulbs you will be drawing 94 watts with hazards on and a further 42 watts if you have a trailer attached while your hazards are on.

Where have you earthed the new lights to?

The lights are just connected by the same 2 wires that powered the old ones. What is the chances of both sides having earth issues? Or if just 1 side had an issue would it make both sides flash fast?

Solder. Will get mt multimeter out in the morning I think

If you can get to the earth wires you could try running another wire direct from the chassis to each of the lights to see if that helps sort it. I lost an earth on the rear of my prvious 110 and ended up addding an earth to each side to compensate for it.

Mananged to fix the indicators :) After running new earths and re-checking all my connections they still flashed double speed. I was trying to think how the relay thinks a bulb is not working. So replaced both bulbs (which were really small but the same ones as were in before) with 2 larger light bulbs that fit the holder (same as sidelights). Fitting the larger bulbs has now sorted it.

You had 5 watt bulbs in place of 21 watt bulbs.:doh::doh::p

nice cheap fix.:)
