Finding engine number on a 1992 exmod 2.5 N/A d engine

Hi everyone

as the title really, any advice on where to find/ how to clean back the engine number on my ex mod 110 defender

I have looked in the area behind the water pump on the passenger side of the vehicle but it does not appear to have any markings is there anywhere else to look?

you need to look on the rhs on the flat surface just under the heater plug yellow cables

Looks like a lot of grunge I will need to clear over weekend!

Yes should be one there.

Why do you need to find?

I'm registering the car with DVLA so need it for the paperwork.

It's an exmod land rover

Just to be sure I am in the right place...... is this the ledge that I should be looking as it does not look like it will have anything there

The number is on the ledge towards the back of the engine, just where fingers cannot get to easily!

You don't need to put the engine number, I didn't and got my v5 back with just an empty box for the engine number. Only thing was the vin number and fuel type etc
