Hi all, I'm looking at buying a face-lift td5. I've only ever had 200/300 so it's all new to me.

I've decided on black leather interior but I've noticed some have heated seats and some don't? As boring as it sounds I also need isofix. Is there a trim level or year I should be looking for?

Many thanks as usual!

Id be more looking at the chassis & mechanical/electrical condition than interior as you can always
upgrade to leather at a later time.
sunroofs leak, crunching gears, rear chassis rot, early models had head gasket probs as LR used plastic dowls
to locate the head to block(prone to breakage)ace issues, poor starting & lacking power (fuel tank pump noisy =fail)
that's off the top lol

Saying that I love them happy hunting ;)

As @kevstar has said, there are more things to worry about in a second hand Disco 2 than the trim level, even the newest Disco 2 will now be about fourteen years old.
So far as ISOFIX child seat mounts are concerned, all D2's will have them on the outer rear seats of the second row, that is the back seat immediately behind the driver and front passenger irrespective of trim level. There are no such fixings on any other seats.
You can get some idea of trim levels from:-

That's really helpful thanks!

Fortunately I'm well used to land-rover build quality and have rebuilt a few so I'm happy with the mechanical aspects. I was aware of the early head problems and the rear 1/4 chassis .anyone know what year they stopped using the plasticised dowels? I'm looking between 2002 &2004

With the auto box anything other than the xyz switch to worry about?

sorry just re read that and it sounds full of attitude.

Im very grateful for all and any answers.

what i meant was I'm used to land rovers just not anything specific to d2

thanks again

I am not so sure of that @brian47, there was someone on here last year who had a D2 and it was not fitted with ISOfix seats. But not sure if it was a spec thing or year based implementation

@Lyndon
I wrote a quick checklist for the D2 , you may find it useful.

Ive got a 2004 pursuit (quite base trim, less to go wrong :D) and it hasn't got isofix. I would buy as late a model year you can afford and buy on condition/service history not mileage. Head gasket and chassis are main concerns, everything else is well documented and relatively straightforward to fix :) also oil pump sprocket bolt is well known potential fault, saying that you ain't gonna whip the sump off on a viewing :D
Also check inner wings in engine bay, underneath sidesteps if fitted and bottom of rear wheel arch edge with door open for rust, all this on nearside in particular

Check for water damage in fuse box in dash under steering wheel , other auto box probs arr overheating light on dash can often just be the sensor in its oil cooler , if going for air check it lifts and lowers and sits leave , when unlocking check all doors unlock ,check steering box for leaks , if it has electic seats try all movments are working , but as said most of all rear chassis rust

I think ISOFiX only became available as an option for the Face-lift versions . Our March 2001 td5 GS didn't have it with the original cloth seats or the full leather set used to replace them (also from a 2001 car)
As said, seats can always be found & changed - chassis condition and engine are the biggees to get right or you'll break your finances sorting them afterwards

The Owner's Handbook for all years of the Disco 2 (in RAVE) does show the placement of ISOFIX mountings and as far as I could make out made no mention of the fittings being dependant on year or trim level. I therefore assumed that they would have been fitted on all models, since other model dependant items are normally indicated. Having never been in the position of actually needing them I'll apologise for any incorrect information and withdraw from the discussion.
