hi all went fri to ats tyres on fri as i had a slight vibration on the steeering at about 30-40 mph and also it was pulling to left so he balanced to 2 front wheels and said the tracking was out by 3degrees so put that right. after driving it a fair way yesterday still seems to be the same with one difference the streeing wheel not in centre. so took it back to a different ats tyres told them he put the wheel on the machine and said the tyre was out of shape did this on the other 3 and said they was out of shape 2 was quite bad and 2 not so bad. is this possible and said i need 2 new tyres they are 195/80/15 goodyear wrangler tyres i have on there on alloy rims. many thanks

dont no how old but loads of tread on them and no wear to the tyres

Look at the date code to tell you how old they are. Where the tyre says DOT will be some numbers & wording. For tyres made from 2000 onwards -, At the end should be a block of four numbers by themselves. The first two denote the week the tyre was made & the last two denote the year e.g. 4107 means it was made in the 41st week of 2007.
If there are only three numbers with a triangle it means that the tyre was made in the nineties with again the first two numbers being the week of manufacture & the last single number being the year e.g. 148 meaning it was made in week 14 of 1998.
If it only has three numbers without the triangle then it was made in the eighties.
Most tyres can be dated though I have found a few where the date code hasn't been beside the DOT information.

Have you tried swapping the fronts left to right and vice-versa?
I had a pair of Indian Federal tyres fitted and it pulled right as if tracking was out swapped them over and she drove straight.--- just a thought.
Oh and before anybody says why didn't you complain to the fitter (they were a free used pair) never look a gift horse at MOT time

thanks for info had a look and they where 2004

That's not too bad, I won't tell you how old one of the tyres on my 1990 BMW is, I'll let you guess. Funny enough I only checked them at the weekend there as I've been busy lately with the Freely but it's moved up the list of priorities sharpish.
