Hiya, bought a generic reversing sensor kit for my 2004 sport but when I came to fit it this aft I found that the rear bumper is not vertical and if I fit them to it they will point down somewhat and false trigger.

Has anyone overcome this problem? what does the factory fit look like for this model please ?

Cheers
Paul

I don't have them on mine but understand your problem - I wonder if the factory fit ones have in effect a moulded in wedge so when mounted on the bumper, they will be vertical

yep, thats what I was wondering. The ones I have bought have an angled sensor but on testing before fitting I found the angle was not acute enough. They need a pod or well slanted spacer. Interested how Land Rover have overcome this !

Hi Harleydee,
Just popped out and took a picy. :)
Ours are standard factory fit.
They are mounted on angled pods as you suspected. ;)

Many Thanks for your efforts TD John, will now see if Land Rover will sell me some without the rest of the reversing kit !

Cheers

If not, you could use plastic or metal pipe of a suitable diameter to act as a spacer but cut to the correct angle then paint it black to match.
