Hello, advice needed please.
A couple of months ago the hose connecting the radiator and the expansion tank gave up/burst. So replaced that. Ok.
This week, the nozzle on the expansion tank where the new hose is connected to broke/cracked (after a 15 minute journey, but did a 4 hour journey two days before).
Is this second failure just a joyful coincidence or perhaps an issue in the radiator system? Ie air pocket?

Hi, depends on some circumstances. A common failure is the tank's cap, it has a 1.4 bar pressure release valve in it which used to get stuck then the pressure in the system gets mixed up, also there are several reviews of failing aftermarket tanks which are low quality, better buy a BMW E30 tank(new or from scrapyard), it's perfect fit and has a low level switch too which you can connect to a warning then you are covered. Also be aware that the tank's cap must be always tightened to maximum otherwise it can mix up things as well. See this https://www.aulro.com/afvb/discover...aver-low-water-level-alarm-2.html#post3044197 . When you bleed it follow the procedure from the WSM with raised tank in addition with this https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-ro...n-and-heater-not-working.365241/#post-5008999

Many thanks for that! Most appreciated. And for the tip on the BMW tank. Wish I'd posted before I bought a different replacement. But will look around for the BMW tank now too. Cheers
