Hi all,

The time has come to sadly part ways with my trusty Land Rover. Life has changed and with several changes in circumstances and priorities, and I can’t afford to keep it as a ‘toy’

I have had many great times with her over the years, and she has served me well.

1987 Ninety ex MOD. I am the first owner since released and have owned her for 5 1/2 years. She originally had a 2.5NA diesel but that got removed in favour of a 300ti from a disco About 3 1/2 years ago.

The engine runes well and is leak free. It is fitted using an adapter that means the original chassis mounts remain unchanged. The old N/A air filter is mounted horizontally on the timing chest where the air con compressor would go.

The intercooler and pipe work are nice and clean and there is no excessive smoke from the exhaust.

There is an electric fan fitted since the engine was installed, but this has never been used as it has never got hot, even in summer traffic.

It has been serviced every 6ish months.

The gearbox is the LT77 which operates fine with no unusual clunks, noises or jumping out of gear.

Transfer box it also fine but it does weep slightly, resulting in a drip every now and again from the transmission brake back plate.

As an aside, I have a disco transfer box which could be included in the sale for the right price.

The chassis is perfectly sound, never welded and doesn’t need any either.

The bulkhead is good......I have recently replaced the drivers lower footwell but it would benefit from the passenger side being repaired (where the bracket for the inner wing is attached) in the not too distant future. The sides of the footwell are absolutely solid, as are the top corners (around the screen hinges), and the area around the vents.

The bodywork is typical ex mod, with dings, dents and scuffs as seen in the pictures. None of this bothers me personally (in fact it’s one of the reasons I bought ex mod in the first place). Last year I repainted the truck, closely following the patch pattern Camo I uncovered when rubbing her down. (She was still in Camo when I bought her but had her blown over with satin NATO green, which quickly started to flake off!)

It has a one piece, 3”, steel snorkel fitted. Axle and gearbox breathers run up the outside of the snorkel.

It also has black chequer plate wing tops fitted.

It has black wolf rims shod with BFG KM2’s, all with plenty of tread.

I fitted side windows in the hard top, along with rear bench seats. I also replaced the front seats with later ones and also installed an exmoor trim centre seat with headrest and 3 point seat belt.

There are a pair of spots, mounted on an A bar on the front, and an led light bar over the back door.

All additional switches are Carling, and are fitted in place of the old MOD centre light switch. Original lighting is now controlled by a standard light switch on the steering column.

MOT until 08th May 2021

Any questions, drop me a pm. I’ll post some pictures now, and if you want pics of specific areas, let me know.....
