Hi guys.

Picked up my landy yesterday, its a Disco 300Tdi 3 door on a N plate. Its in pretty good nick for the age but does require a few little things to be done. First job is to sort out the wobble/waddle at the back which i am assuming is an out of shape tyre.

Anyway here are a couple of pic

I guess I should add a bit about myself as well.

I am a Lubrication Technician (no jokes please :D) for Ford and work in their R&D centre in Basildon. I do a lot of work on oil analysis of test engines so am happy to answer any questions relating to engine oils. Before that I used to build the prototype engines and did a lot of work on the Puma engine as well as the TDV6 and TDV8 that used in Landies/Rangies ;)

Interesting job :D I have a question for you.....
Lets just say, for arguements sake..Someone from Dunton (NOT me!) who parked in the Design Carpark, just past the entrance to the high-speed track, owned a tdv6 Rangie (05MY I think), and accidently put 4 (FOUR) litres of unleaded in, before noticing their mistake, and then topped up with 88lts of Diesel...Would that be safe to run?...or should he drain it & start afreash? *I* think the % of petrol would be quite low & be OK...

I know another Forum where there's lots of talk of adding (From memory) ?200ml? of 2-stroke oil to a tank of diesel in the DW12 engined Freelander, so would adding a bit of 2stroke oil help my mate to regain some of the lubricity lost due to the 4lts petrol?

The motor's still worth a few bob & he doesnt want take my word for it (Cant say I blame him!) & was asking only this morning if I knew of any one in Diesel Base-engines, or anyone who worked with lube!...

:bounce:lol...I might just suggest that to him...
I even told him I add a litre of petrol to my tank, if/when I run SVO in the Disco.
