Someone shunted me whilst parked up - have had EPB fault since it happened - garage saying they won’t repair as couldn’t have happened in the shunt !!!! Advice please

Hey kiddo, the crap thing is you can't prove it did happen but they can't prove it didn't happen in the accident either. I would look for a second opinion if it's possible?o_O;)

Plus with it being a 2007 hope the OP has had the oil pump cover replaced

Also really need some more details, of what error the EPB is causing , ie, light showing or locked on etc

Could be the ecu thing for it gone kaput?

Could be a few things , they are actually very reliable if there maintained , it’s normally as the shoes wear there not adjusted so when the EPB is applied the cable is having to work harder to apply the shoes

That’s when u start getting the screech sound , also the cogs inside are plastic so when there put under a lot of strain they strip

9/10 can be stripped down and rebuilt, can buy the cogs on there own

Plus impact wouldn’t have been that severe as there an impact sensor at the back which would have triggered the airbags

Hopefully the OP will be able to give us some more details

Plastic!

He’s only changing that D3 one coz he’s smashing that piece and it’s her Landy right?

Yes some of the cogs are plastic , not sure to be honest if the D3 is hers

Don’t know if you’ve seen this but is a video showing the EPB being taken apart
