Hi everyone, I’mnew to the Land Rover so asking for a little help.
Might seem like a silly question but would like to be sure... I have a 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 L320 got it cheap as it wouldn’t start.
Removed the starter motor and yes it’s toast. Pre-engage works/shoots out but won’t spin.
Anyway haven’t fitted a new one yet as I’m away but I removed the auxiliary belt to check nothing else was ceased or broken because I can not turn the engine over by hand. Using a socket and lever on the crank? Is this normal? or should the engine rotate... I would have thought it should just like other engines I’ve worked on, hence I’m a little bit worried that something might have failed internally.
Would love to get a no answer to myquestion actually so I could happily fit a new starter and drive along with the biggestsmile on my face. lol
