I have a 110 1990 ex mod defender and it has the usual army 2.5 na diesel. I am 17 soon and fuel conumption is an issue, will a new tdi have less fuel consumption, run faster? Are there any other benefites? What is a estimated cost of an upgrade? Is it worth (possible) putting in a petrol and then an lpg conversion? Thanks a lot.

yess thats class. I think its a mit first veichle

good lad :D
i couldnt insure it for my first vehicle way tooooo much:mad:
years no claims got it down to 1800:D
do some insurance quotes first i would before you get your hopes up or if you have real deep pockets dont worry :p

then you dont need a landrover

I'm 17 and I love my Landy to bits, sure we don't 'need' them, but that don't stop us!

To the OP; yes a 200 tdi conversion will get you an extra ~10mpg over the n/a plus a BIG boost in performance. I'm also putting a 200 tdi into a 110 in a couple of weeks time, maybe we can help eachother out a bit in the near future.

how was your insurance being 17? i found it to be way to much or are you on your parents policy?

really mate what makes you thinj that.

I live upp in northern northuberland on the scottish border and live up a mile ad haf of dirt track and spend a t of tie on y land rover. So why ouldt i need one, i drive it everyday to my school bus. I do not need it but then does ayone NEED it, why do you NEED yours?
if your worried about fuel consumption then a landrover doesnt fit the bill.

I've got my own policy with my dad on it as a 2nd driver, cost about £1900 for a year. I was also looking at quotes for VW Polos, Puntos etc etc and all were around £2k as well.
