Hi All. I have just registered as I need to get some advice about my 2012 Disco. I'm not very mechanically minded but sometimes I find that a bit of detective work by myself helps when the service centre cannot.
My Discovery has recently (within the last 6 months) started surging intermittently whilst motorway driving in top gear at about 2000rpm. Not even sure if surging is the right term but basically it starts reving up and down whilst cruising. It has only done it 3-4 times in total.
I've had it in to the landrover dealership twice and they say they have checked everything and changed the fuel filter. Nothing shows up on the diagnostics.
It's still doing it and I don't want to bring it back again without doing a bit of research.
Has anyone seen this issue before and can you give me a list of possible causes so that I can get them all checked out. Apart from the fact its annoying I want it sorted before the summer and the family holiday to France. I'm not sure whether this issue is dangerous.
I will do my best to answer any questions and I would appreciate any advice or help you can offer.
Cheers.
Jonny.

Read another post and it may be overboosting, so the engine ecu cuts fuelling to stop possible damage. Apparently usually caused by a sticking wastegate on the turbo?
