Got a 2.8td diahatsu in my landy runs very well but reasonly the temperture gauge reads hot on looking she don't seem to boil over nor lose water ,on some advice I took the thermostat out but she still reads hot ,any ideas ?

I've heard that these engines say they run hot as the standard gauge runs wrong unless you have a different gauge plus these engines are nightmare to keep cool anyway.

Yes swapped gauges it's always read normal ,I got electric fan on a switch I use but never used it much as gauge was never high

No not really ,I only need to go about 2 miles then it's reading hot, think I,ll check earth ,I think I got another engine stat I could put on to test it's reading right
