Just a quickie (I have searched-and had a similar problem years ago)-battery went flat last night-recharged went to start "engine immobilised" entered EKA started but as soon as key taken out same problem again-engine immobilised-press remote.

Problem is I've tried entering the EKA code again without success-the key will unlock and lock all the doors when entering the code-I thought it shouldn't do this.

I had this years ago but got it going.

Could it be a Synching problem and if so anybody near Caerphilly to sort it out.

Thanks

Steve

PS
Have spent hours searching.

The other unusual thing is that the boot will not open immediately when the doors are unlocked with the key-it takes about 30 seconds to open the top-BUT the bottom will not respond to another press. It seems one press and that's it.

Time for an L322 I think or put a tow bar on my 1983 Senator!

Somewhere on here are MartyUK's lock tests. Might be the technical section. The tailgate button is quite easy to get to and can get corroded. It also gets grounded by the microswitches in the driver's lock. That microswitch might be acting up. Again, @martyuk does refurbed locks.

after leaving unlocked the lower tailgate now opens-seems to be on a timer. Had this years ago-will try and fix or set alight!

Still no joy-followed Mozz's guide a few times to the letter.

Will have a check of these-but it's like they are on a timer-the upper tailgate will unlock as soon as the interior lights time out-the lower tailgate takes a quite a while longer.
Perhaps the BeCM is kaput.

So it is only going to ground once the interior lights are out. Electrickery isn't really my thing. They'll need the make, model, engine and year to find the right circuit in RAVE. You have got RAVE, I assume? There must be a common link in there somewhere. There's something odd about the petrol-flap release as well. That can cause some odd behaviour.

Thanks Grrrr,
definitely some odd behaviour-have Rave will have a look. Think I'll have to give the local Landrover independent a ring to see if they can come out.

Steve

Picked the 1999 model. Looks like the interior lights and the tailgate have the same earth point = E0807 so I'd start there. They also seem to share connectors C1283, C1285 and C1584. So I'd be checking those as well. Pictures of the connectors and locations are in RAVE.

Some of you guys have the abilities to move the LR Zone forward and put down these toys you call the P38....

The L322 world will embrace and reward new diagnostic talent.

Wtf are you fannying about in the past for?

( I have protected myself with an imprenitable sheild,,,,,,wine and Minstrels:cool:)

Grrr,

I have a problem with RAVE
Cannot find the correct area when I just downloaded it (originally on old PC)-will not open any section.

I'll have another look for a copy.

I think they share a common earth ,may be worth a look at, Electrickery isn't my forte but when I was having problems with my tailgate after checking the earth I went for a new (to me)tailgate button. The old one was corroded inside, it would open the top but not the bottom. They are easily stripped, cleaned and lubricated.
