Engine cutting out

Hello. I have a 86 n/a defender. Has always run really well up untill about a week ago. I dont really have much of an idea with whats wrong with it. The engine keeps cutting out, seems like its stalling but cant think why. After it cuts out it starts up fine but when i pull away it cuts out again. The only thingni can think of is a fuel pump. Any ideas would be very much aprecated. Thanks Tom. .

Chek the wire connection to the stop solenoid as they get old and work loose, cure remove nip up with pliers and refit.
Mine broke down the other day and it wasnt the wire but the stop solenoid itself had died so had to remove and gut it with high tech tools screwdriver cum chisel and a lump hammer.

thanks for heads up lynall would have spent hours trying to find out whats wrong with it , turns out it was just a loose conection on the stop solinoid, quick fix, which was nice. hope yours are running well
