Hiya guys l. So I've been tinkering about with 2005 2.0 td4 this moring trying to discover the source of what I can only describe as a misfire only to find that my engine seems to have a lot of "loose ends". Ive also noticed that oil seems to leakibg through one of the bolt holes for the top cover (see pic for location).surely this isn't normal, im starting to think ive bought quite a project ! I've taken a few pictures I'm hoping someone can enlighten me as I'm also starting to wonder if the car has had an egine change at some point prior to my buying it. Many thanks in advance

Picture one is what I'd expect for a 2005 FL1 TD4.

Picture two shows the turbo filter. This should be changed every year and just flops loose down the back of engine.

Picture three is the top of the IRD breather tube and should be left open to the atmosphere.

Picture four should have a bolt in the hole. The bolt also holds the injector cover on, which is missing in that picture.

It's also best to post Freelander questions in the Freelander section. ;)
